Have you ever wondered how to live more sustainably?

Sustainability is fundamental because it ensures that future generations can live better lives.

If we keep taking, taking, and taking from the Earth, then there will be no planet for our children to do anything with.

That is bad news for everyone! Here are six steps you can take in an attempt to live a more sustainable lifestyle.

Here are six steps on how you can live more sustainably:

Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle

Reduce your carbon footprint by consuming less – or at a slower rate. If there really is no way that you can find to be able to consume less yourself, try to convince others around you to reduce their footprints instead.

Reuse things whenever possible. Don’t just throw things away because you are tired of using them. There are probably other people who would like to use that thing before it is actually considered trash.

Recycle whatever you can!

Just because we don’t have access to recycling in some areas doesn’t mean we should ignore what we can do.

If your government or local authority doesn’t recycle paper and plastic properly, try looking for a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that can help you recycle.

Conserve land resources

We are definitely going to need the land in the future, so it is important that we conserve it now before something terrible happens!

Don’t just tear down trees for no reason – that is not very sustainable at all!

We now have a huge supply of bamboo face cloths for skincare and sustainable toilet paper etc., so there really is no excuse.

Make sure your energy source is sustainable

This means that you shouldn’t just burn things for fun. That is not very sustainable.

The people who live in our future world will probably be quite mad at us if we continue to leave a terrible carbon footprint behind for them to clean up after us.

So, it is a good idea to go green today.

Protect your water supply

Water is very important to us.

However, if we let our water sources dry up, our children’s children and the future generations who live after us will struggle to survive in a healthy way without water.

Try to conserve as much water as you can. Don’t leave the tap running when you brush your teeth, re-boil the kettle rather than refilling it each time, fill up the sink to wash up, rather than leaving the water running etc.

Respect wildlife and natural habitats

If you see an animal, please do not try to capture or kill it!

Definitely don’t buy animal products from a fashion store – animals are dying unnecessarily for fashion.

Our future generations probably wouldn’t appreciate us killing off entire species just because we thought it looked cool.

Make sure your actions are sustainable by nature

Make sure you are not doing anything that would be considered unsustainable. This means trying to live in harmony with nature.

Buy only natural goods like biodegradable containers, natural plant oil soaps and detergents, organic skincare products, natural oils and wellness products etc.

If your actions aren’t sustainable by nature, try to change them so they are!

If you follow these steps and conserve as much as possible, you will be able to live more sustainably and help future generations to live a better life.

You might even help save the planet!
