Work With Me
I bring lived and professional experience to everything I do. Whether you need a speaker to inspire, motivate or move, training that actually lands, a workshop your audience will still be talking about next month, one-to-one coaching from someone who has genuinely been where you are, or a writer who has been inside the systems she writes about, you’re in the right place.
Speaking
I speak at conferences, summits, panels, training days and community events. For everything from booking enquiries to fees and available talks, visit my speaker page.
Training
I deliver training for schools, healthcare teams, local authority staff, voluntary sector organisations and charities. Every session combines professional expertise with lived experience – which means the people in the room don’t just learn the theory. They hear what it actually looks like from the other side.
Topics include:
- Child criminal exploitation and county lines: What grooming really looks like, why systems miss it, and what changes that
- Violence against women and girls: Understanding the lifecycle of VAWG, coercive control, and how to support survivors effectively
- SEND, CAMHS and Schools: The gap between policy and practice, what families are living behind your referral statistics, and how professionals can do better
- Genuine inclusion: What it means when applied consistently across all communities, including those whose experiences current frameworks rarely acknowledge
- Disability and chronic illness: Understanding the reality beyond the diagnosis, building genuine support, and moving beyond compliance
Format: Half day, full day, or bespoke. In person (location dependent) or online. Tailored to your team, your sector and your specific brief.
Rates on application.

Workshops
My workshops are live, practical and built for people who need more than information – they need to know what to actually do next. All sessions are run via Zoom and are recorded so you can access them afterwards.
Current and upcoming workshops:
1. The Bucket List as a Survival Strategy: How to Build a Life Worth Fighting For
For disabled people, chronically ill people, carers, and anyone who has been told (explicitly or implicitly) that their life has a smaller horizon now
Using NLP and personal experience of building a life with a pacemaker, an ICD, FND and single parenthood on benefits, this workshop helps people reconnect with what they actually want and build practical steps toward it. Not motivational. Not vague. Specific, honest and built for people who have real constraints and are done being told to just think positively.
2. What They Don’t Tell You About Fighting the System
For parents, carers and individuals navigating SEND, CAMHS, school, benefits, housing or family courts
Not scripts. Not rights. The stuff underneath – why the system makes you feel like you’re going mad, how to stay strategic when you’re exhausted and frightened, and how to walk into a room full of professionals and hold your ground. The psychological and practical tools for people in the middle of a fight who need to keep going.
3. From Surviving to Building: Practical Mindset Tools for People Who’ve Been Through It
For survivors of domestic abuse, exploitation, systemic failure, or significant trauma who are out the other side and trying to figure out what comes next
Using NLP alongside lived experience, this workshop helps people identify the thinking patterns difficult experiences create – and start shifting them. Not therapy, just practical tools for people who are ready to move but keep finding themselves stuck.
4. Raising a Neurodiverse Child When the System Says No
For parents of AuDHD, autistic or ADHD children who are fighting for their child while managing their own life simultaneously
Not rights and legislation – there are plenty of workshops on that. This is about the reality nobody talks about. The grief of the diagnosis journey. The isolation. The toll on your own mental health and identity. How to advocate fiercely for your child without losing yourself in the process. And the practical strategies that actually moved the needle after years of being dismissed.
5. How to Tell Your Story: Finding Your Voice After Silence
For survivors, advocates, community leaders and anyone who has a powerful story but doesn’t know how to share it safely, effectively or publicly
Using NLP communication frameworks and lived experience of going public with a difficult story, this workshop covers how to find the version of your story that serves your purpose, how to share it without retraumatising yourself, how to handle difficult reactions, and how to use your story as a tool for change rather than just testimony.
Format: 60 minutes via Zoom.
£25 per ticket for the live session · £15 for the recording
Sessions require a minimum of 6 bookings to run. If the minimum isn’t reached, you’ll be offered the choice of a full refund or a place on the next available date.
Email info@lifeitornot.com to be notified of upcoming dates or to arrange a private workshop for your group or organisation.
Writing
I write from lived and professional experience – which means my work goes beyond research and theory into the specific, human detail that makes readers think differently.
I write for:

- Publications and media: Features, essays and opinion pieces on SEND, disability, domestic abuse, child exploitation, systemic inequality, inclusion, and building a life against the odds
- Websites and content: Clear, honest copy for organisations working in the community, voluntary and public sectors
I also write Life It Or Not, my Substack newsletter.
I’m also available for: Podcast and radio appearances · Media comment and expert interviews · Panel contributions

One-to-One Coaching
I’m an NLP Master Practitioner. I work one-to-one with people who are ready to do more than survive their circumstances. I work with people who want to shift the thinking patterns that difficult experiences create.
This isn’t therapy or generic life coaching, but practical, forward-focused NLP work with someone who has genuinely been where you are – and who has the professional framework to understand why you’re still carrying what you’re carrying.
Who I work with:
- Parents burned out from years of fighting who need to rebuild their own thinking alongside their legal strategy
- Survivors of coercive control who are out but still living inside the patterns
- Disabled and chronically ill people trying to build income and reframe what’s possible for them
- Working class women who were told early they weren’t capable and still half-believe it
- People who have been through something significant and now need to figure out what comes next
How it works:
Sessions are one hour via Zoom. Available before 9am and after 8pm – because the people I work with are rarely free 9 to 5 either.
- Introductory session: £60
- Six-session block: £330 (saving £30)
- Ongoing sessions: £70
I work with a small number of clients at any one time. Email info@lifeitornot.com to get in touch and have a short conversation to make sure it’s the right fit before anything is booked.
Not sure which option is right for you?
Tell me what you’re working on or what you need. If I can help, I’ll tell you how. If I can’t, I’ll tell you that too.
